Marvel Studios will sign director Matthew "Stardust" Vaughn to direct "Thor," based on the Marvel Comics character.
Marvel is aiming for a production start this winter.

Vaughn previously produced the Guy Ritchie-directed films "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch".
He made his directing debut with "Layer Cake."
