"Sex and the City" Coming To The Big Screen

New Line Cinema will finally produce a feature film version of the syndicated HBO TV series "Sex and the City".

The film is now gearing up for a fall start.

Actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will all return to reprise their roles, with executive producer Michael Patrick King directing from his own screenplay.

Parker will also produce along with John Melfi and series creator Darren Star.

Star based the original show on autobiographical newspaper columns written by author Candace Bushnell.

Broadcast over HBO 1998-2004, "Sex and the City" is set in New York, following the lives and loves of four female best friends.


The sexually explicit sitcom/soap opera tackled socially relevant issues including the status of women in society.
